The Beyond Blue Opening

Some of the fabulous Fiber 19 team I had SUCH a good time at the Beyond Blue opening at the Sidney Gallery & Museum in Port Orchard.  It was a lot of fun!!   Me explaining silk painting I demonstrated silk painting, plus there were demonstrations of encaustic work and hand-embroidery.  Lots of fabulous people came to look at the show and watch our demo's (and enjoy the munchies!).              Watching the encaustic process I'm just so impressed with the Sidney Gallery and their wonderful volunteers & staff.  I HIGHLY recommend them as a venue - plus they are wonderful to work with!  A different view  (I'm working on a camellia) A special thanks to Pam Heinrich, the Sidney Gallery's Art Director for selecting Fiber 19's Beyond Blue Show to exhibit for the month of April!! I've done alright making World Globe Lampshades and Bowls for my business Re-covered Treasures (see my blog  www.Re-coveredTreasures.com and my Etsy store ReCoveredTreasures4U ).    But over the years I've received lots of questions about how to make them, so I thought I would share that information. World Globe Lampshade with crystal trim So this post will be the beginning of a basic tutorial on how to choose World Globes to make World Globe Lampshades and Bowls,  which I will then do a follow-up posts on how to actually make the lampshades and bowls.
