Those of us participating in the Sammamish Arts Fair 2017 (held on September 23rd and 24th from 10am-5pm in the Sammamish City Hall), were asked to create a short video about ourselves. I did make a video - but I did it without help and on my cellphone (so let's just say the quality could be better! lol!!).  I've added the video via my Youtube channel where I've posted it (as it is apparently too big to post directly to Blogger). me, Aug 2015 Ok, I know this isn't really art-related, but I'm feeling a bit .... confused... about what to do with my hair. This is my hair (and me of course) now - trying on what are about become my new glasses  (thank you, Costco!).  I like my hair this length because I can put it into a pony-tail or up in a little bun, or just let hang loose.  I know it's probably not the most modern look, nor is it as flattering as other looks I've had.  But the benefit of being able to put it up, is that it won't get in my way when working on art (see it is a little bit art-related!) Yes there are blond streaks in it - but only in preparation for putting in streaks of fun colors (historically, I've had purples, blues, and/or aqua/teals in my hair).  I'm not the sort to dye my hair to cover the gray, but I am the sort to enjoy playing with color and my hair is just another canvas! Most of my cut globes The bases with holes drilled in them 9/11/15 update - have gotten all the gluing done (whew!).  Now on to the sanding of the insides and edges. And on a different note, The victims and heroes of 9/11 are in my thoughts and prayers today! Tick... tick... tick... the sound of the clock.  There is NOTHING like a deadline to make you aware of time!  Specifically, how LITTLE time you have to get your project done! I've created a checklist for myself so I know what I need to do and when I need to have it all done.  I thought perhaps that would help me feel more organized - and it does... but it also feels like I've put a bunch more pressure on myself rather than alleviating it. __x_ Do I have enough globes? Photo courtesy of paperandstone.com I met the most amusing man and (and his most-patient partner) yesterday.   Together, they form the creative group Jeanne Dana (He is Dana, she is Jeanne) of PaperandStone.com .  They make wonderful fine art castings and sell them wholesale (and at some craft fairs I believe) around the country.  I have a semi-annual tradition of going to the Seattle Gift Show - and have done so for about 5 years now.  I started going when I first created my business (Re-CoveredTreasures.com).   I originally went with the intention of trying to determine whether or not, my business could create enough product to sell via a wholesale venue like the Seattle Gift Show.  It was an amazing view into the wholesale/retail/business world - in fact I highly recommend you visit it if you get the opportunity!  lovely, but NOT antique! I am SOOO excited to announce, that I have been accepted as a contributing artist for the 2014 Issaquah Artwalk !  I haven't received any more details yet, as to where I will be located.  But I am just thrilled to be able to participate!  I will post the details as I find out more information.   FYI - the 2014 Issaquah Artwalk will be held on the first Friday of each month from 6pm-9pm.  Starting on June 6th, and continuing on July 11th, August 1st, and September 5th.   I hope to see you there!!
