Michael Pinball Clemons Foundation Gala Pictures

I received a message from Kalla at the Michael Pinball Clemons Foundation, saying that the Gala was wonderful and that my world globe bowls looked great (whew!). She even sent me a couple of pictures...  which I'm sharing here:   Thank you Kalla, for choosing my bowls for your event!!

There's nothing like waiting for your customers to receive your packages!

When you ship something you made to a customer, do you watch it travel via the tracking information?   I DO! I've checked on my 5 boxes of world globe bowls every day! They started off in Issaquah, WA (that's the nearest post office to my location). Then off to Kent, WA to begin their journey (I'm assuming it's a big hub for the Seattle area) Next it was down to San Francisco, CA (Ok, I'm a bit confused by them going south!) Now they've arrived in Canada... in VANCOUVER, Canada (which is a short distance from Seattle, but quite a long haul from San Francisco!).  It does make you wonder how that makes more sense to the Post Office to send all 5 packages south only to then basically retrace the route back north.  I can't wait to see where they go next (something tells me it might be an interesting choice)!  (their ultimate destination is Toronto, Ontario Canada).

World Globe Bowls Final Update - THEY'RE DONE!

5 boxes ready to ship to Canada! It is with a sigh of relief, that I can tell you that I have finished the 55 world globe bowls (plus 2-3 extra).  FYI - 58 world globe bowls fit nice into 5 heavy-duty, medium-sized boxes.  HOORAY!!!!   I am so glad to have them done.  Now I get to wait and watch them via USPS's tracking service... to make sure they are delivered.  And I am waiting with baited breath, to hear if the client likes them (I have my fingers and toes crossed!). NOW I can get back to work on silk painting!   Ok first I have to clean up the mess that is my studio space --- 55 world globe bowls took up a LOT of space and made an incredible mess! But in spite of the cleanup I still need to do, I feel very excited and motivated to get back to my true love - silk painting!

55 World Globe Bowls UPDATE

Am I up to my ears in globe-bowls? YUP! I knew it was a lot of work when I agreed to do it, and like all big projects, I'm wondering why the heck I agreed to do this??  CRAZY! But I am pleased to say that I have been stepping through my to-do list in a timely manner - in spite of working full time, being a mom, a wife, and having lots of extended-family issues (oy). 9/28 update - All bowls have had their final white-paint coats done on the insides!  Labels are being added and I am working on touching up major damage to the map-surface (some of the globes were missing big chunks of map).  But for the most part, they are done - HOORAY!! So far I've completed steps 1-14 for all 55 bowls! (YEAH!!) __x_ Do I have enough globes? YES.   (Whew!)   __x_ Do I have enough bases? yup.   __x__Do I have enough hardware DONE .. thought I did. NOPE .  Gotta go get slightly longer screws.... sigh. I thought I had the right size, but didn't t...

55 Globe Bowls... tick... tick... tick...

Most of my cut globes The bases with holes drilled in them 9/11/15 update - have gotten all the gluing done (whew!).  Now on to the sanding of the insides and edges. And on a different note, The victims and heroes of 9/11 are in my thoughts and prayers today! Tick... tick... tick... the sound of the clock.  There is NOTHING like a deadline to make you aware of time!  Specifically, how LITTLE time you have to get your project done! I've created a checklist for myself so I know what I need to do and when I need to have it all done.  I thought perhaps that would help me feel more organized - and it does... but it also feels like I've put a bunch more pressure on myself rather than alleviating it. __x_ Do I have enough globes? YES.   (Whew!)   __x_ Do I have enough bases? yup.   ____Do I have enough hardware .. thought I did. NOPE .  Gotta go get slightly longer screws.... sigh. I thought I had the right size, but di...
